Being a good photographer is not enough to run a successful photography business.

You’re likely a photographer because you’re a creative who loves people and telling their stories. You probably enjoy playing with light (natural or off camera), get excited about styling flatlays, are constantly studying posing and composition, and are an expert at making your photos more interesting with framing and layering.

You’re great behind the camera and you produce images that you’re proud of. (Or, at least you’re getting there. We all have room for improvement!) That’s great! But, can we be honest with you for a second? Being a good—even a great or the best—photographer is not enough to run a successful photography business.

Click to continue reading . . .
For your business to thrive, you need to:

  1. Identify your ideal clients (the people you are best suited to serve and love working with).
  2. Have marketing strategies in place that allow you to reach your ideal clients and convert them into paying customers.
  3. Serve your clients' socks off so they sing your praises, keep coming back, and send you referrals!

Luckily, we live in a time where it is easier to reach our ideal clients than ever before because of the internet. Between websites, social media, and other online tools, you can get your work in front of your ideal customers for practically nothing!

But, how do you get started? How do you identify your ideal clients and reach them? Which marketing strategies actually work?

These are the questions we (Jasmine Norris-Dixon and Victoria Rayburn) are going to answer at the In Focus Marketing Summit—a marketing workshop for photographers in Indianapolis, Indiana!

Now, this workshop is a little different than most workshops, because we don’t simply want to give you information; we want you to have time to implement a lot of what you learn before going back to the distractions and busyness of real life.

Basically, you’re invited to spend 2.5 days focusing on nothing but your business and getting things done!

We’ll kick off the Summit at 6:30 pm on Thursday, February 6 with appetizers, cocktails, and an ice breaker and then dive right into the content.

Then, you’ll spend two full days and nights in community with other photographers discussing and working on website development, social media, SEO, publishing your work, content marketing, branding, and so much more!

When you leave the Summit, you’ll have marketing strategies to help your business thrive, tasks crossed off your to-do list, and a community of photographers whom you can call friends!

So, what are you waiting for? Register now!
